Visitors are taken on a wagon ride into the forest where one can observe moose, elk, deer and bison all in there natural habitat. Tours available from June to Sept. daily from 1pm and 3pm. The spotlight of this park is shone on the Englehart River, which lunges over a fall, and runs through rock outcrops and deep ravines. The forests and wildflowers are multicoloured – a sight for the eyes and lenses. The 29 lakes in the park are what are left of the glaciers that receded tens of thousands of years ago. Canoeists can easily portage between the lakes for an enjoyable paddle. The once glacier filled area now is filled with kettle lakes (26 in all) and eskers (sharp-sided ridges of gravel and sand). Boreal forests cloak the area and the waters are stocked with fish. This provincial park, very near the James Bay, consists of four islands in the Moose River. Visitors can use water taxis as transportation. Although red squirrels, rabbits and grouse are the most spotted wildlife, seal and beluga whales have also been seen traveling the river.
